Yellowstone Spinoff ‘6666’ Storyline Leaked By Jefferson White!

The upcoming spinoff, Yellowstone: 6666, has been confirmed, and the show was announced back in February 2021 (via Entertainment Weekly). When the show was first announced, nothing was known about the cast, crew, or even many story details, and it has remained that way in the years since. There’s been little movement since 2021, and the current status of 6666 is up in the air. Various other Taylor Sheridan projects (LandmanTulsa King, etc) have taken precedent, and it’s clear that 6666 might not be a high priority as the celebrated TV producer moves forward.

Many Details Remain Unclear

There have been no specific plot details released yet about the Yellowstone: 6666 spinoff. However, Paramount+ did release a few specifics in a February 2021

“Founded when Comanches still ruled West Texas, no ranch in America is more steeped in the history of the West than the 6666. Still operating as it did two centuries before, and encompassing an entire county, the 6666 is where the rule of law and the laws of nature merge in a place where the most dangerous thing one does is the next thing.”

If the new Yellowstone spinoff is set in the 1800s, it could potentially feature some of the characters from 1883, many of whom were military veterans and cowboys who could conceivably be involved with the Four Sixes Ranch. Whether Yellowstone: 6666 is set in the present or the past, it’s bound to continue Sheridan’s unique vision of the American West, and expand the franchise.

The History Of The Real Four Sixes Ranch

The Ranch Began Over 100 Years Ago

The Four Sixes Ranch was founded in 1900, and was established by Texas cattleman Samuel Burk Burnett, who allegedly won the ranch in a card game using a hand of four sixes. In reality, the name comes from the first 100 head of cattle that Samuel Burk Burnett purchased in 1870, all of which had the “6666” brand. After the dust from the Civil War had settled, opportunities abounded for those with the means to grab them, and Samuel Burk Burnett took those opportunities to develop a ranch that had built a reputation for superior workhorses, racehorses, and Angus cattle.

Burnett’s great-great-granddaughter Anne Burnett Marion died on February 2020, which led to the Four Sixes Ranch being listed on the market for $347.7 million. In May 2021, Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan purchased the ranch, likely in preparation for Yellowstone: 6666. Whether it’s in the past, present, or future, Yellowstone: 6666 could be even better than either the original Yellowstone or any of its other spinoffs.
