Garrison Brown, son of âSister Wivesâ stars Janelle and Kody Brown, has been laid to rest following his apparent suicide last week.
The 25-year-oldâs cousin, Emma Brown, confirmed in an Instagram post over the weekend that his funeral was held Saturday.
âThis is everything I wish you couldâve heard before I had to say goodbye,â she wrote in a post addressed to Garrison. âWe love you. I donât even own a picture of you without your contagious smile. I donât know if I have the right words to say Iâll miss you. I wish I was able to give you a hug and tell you how much you were loved. You were human, you had flaws but never once did I doubt the friendship we had. Iâll always cherish the times I got to spend with you. We planned to go on so many backpacking trips but only made it to one.â
Emma recalled Garrisonâs âgoofy dad jokes, our coffee runs, the dinners we shared,â and how he âmade sure I knew I could always talk to you.â
âYou were a son, a brother, a soldier, and a friend. If there is a god I hope heâs giving you peace,â she wrote.
Garrison, one of six children shared by Janelle and former polygamist Kody, was found dead at his Flagstaff, Ariz. residence last Tuesday by his brother Gabriel. The 22-year-old had been asked to check on Garrison after the latter sent troubling texts to a group the family works with.
Garrison died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, local authorities told TMZ.
Janelle and Kody â from whom Garrison was reportedly estranged â confirmed their sonâs death via social media last week, saying: âHis loss will leave such a big hole in our lives that it takes our breath away. We ask that you please respect our privacy and join us in honoring his memory.â
