Mama June’s Shocking Revelation: Reality Star Spent Almost $1 Million On Drugs In One Year

Mama June Shannon has revealed that she spent almost $1 million on “dope” at the peak of her addiction, but she has already changed and is sober now.

The 41-year-old reality star got candid in an interview with Access Hollywood this week about her struggle with drug addiction and how she bounced back from it. During the interview, Mama June dropped a bombshell when she revealed that she spent close to a $1 million on drugs in one year.

“I would say the last year of our addiction, probably a good $900,000. So much money was sent to our dope man,” she said.

The mother of Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson went on to reveal that she once sent her dealer $80,000 in a single mobile app transaction. Mama June then said that when she entered rehab, she had nothing.

“I went into rehab with $1.75 to my name. And I came out with nothing,” she said.

Mama June has been clean for 14 months now, according to Page Six. She admitted that after going through such a tough time, she’s learned her lesson.

“It’s so much easier for me to say, ‘Hey, I don’t want to feel this. I don’t want to go back to that. I don’t want to have my bank accounts overdrawn,’” she said.

Mama June, who has been estranged from her daughters for some time now, is back with a new reality show with her boyfriend Geno Doak, 45. “Mama June: Road to Redemption” centers on her and Geno’s sobriety and their life as a couple after battling drug addiction.

Prior to her new show, Mama June had “Mama June: Family Crisis,” which focused on the ramifications of her methamphetamine addiction, as per CNN.

Mama June’s substance abuse problem first made headlines in March 2019 when she was arrested in Alabama after police found a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia in her car amid a domestic dispute between her and Geno.

At the time, Mama June was also struggling with family problems since her daughters Alana and Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon were not pleased with what she was doing with her life ever since she got together with her boyfriend.

“Mama June: Road to Redemption” is set to premiere on Friday at 9 p.m. ET on We TV.
