It has been a dramatic week in EastEnders for Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) and Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal), but fortunately it had a very happy ending.
Suki was left stunned on Monday when her first love Ayesha (Laila Rouass) arrived on Albert Square, and the pair had an important conversation about their relationship and Hardeep’s death.
Hardeep was the man that Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) mudered over 20 years ago, when he believed him to have been having an affair with Suki.
When Nish’s plan to turn Ayesha against Suki failed, he instead took to winding up Eve, in the hopes of ruining their relationship.
Instead, his goading simply encouraged her to propose – leaving Suki totally taken aback.
When Suki failed to give Eve an answer, Nish was sure he’d won, and Eve fled the Square, devastated.
However, Suki was quick to tell Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) that she was just surprised, before attacking Nish for his involvement in Eve’s disappearance.
When Eve arrived home the next day, things were tense between the two of them, and soon an argument ensued as Suki demanded to know what Eve had been thinking.
As Eve admitted having been rattled by Nish, things took a turn when Suki compared her to him, leaving Eve understandably upset.
Later, Ayesha found Suki sitting in the Square and gave her a much-needed pep-talk.
She pointed out that she had a second chance of happiness with Eve, and urged her to take it.
Ayesha’s advice helped Suki to see what she really wanted, and she later headed into the Vic with a business card for a divorce lawyer for Eve, insisting she’d been married to Stacey for long enough.
As she took the floor, she revealed how much she loved Eve, and asked her to be her wife.
Of course, Eve agreed, and the room burst into cheers and applause.
Not everyone shared the sentiment however, as Nish watched on, clearly fuming. Will he attempt to ruin their happiness again, or have Suki and Eve won once and for all?
