After one failed proposal, Suki Panesar decided to get back at Eve Unwin by proposing to her herself in the Queen Vic, leading viewers to speculate Nish had a trick up his sleeve.
Rage overwhelmed Nish Panesar this Thursday as he witnessed his ex-wife Suki propose to her lover Eve Unwin in EastEnders.
The pair have moved heaven and earth to be together, standing up to a controlling and abusive Nish, portrayed by Navin Chowdhry, until the row escalated in the villain being hit over the head with a champagne bottle at Christmas, right before Linda Carter, unbeknownst to Walford residents, stabbed Keanu Taylor.
More recently, Suki (played by Balvinder Sopal) was speechless when Eve (Heather Peace) dropped down to one knee to ask for her hand in marriage, right in front of her former love interest Ayesha (Laila Rouass).
During this Thursday’s trip to Albert Square (August 8), Suki and Eve finally managed to resolve their differences, and a chat with Ayesha who encouraged her to let herself have another chance at a happy married life convinced Suki to seal the deal with her own proposal in the Queen Vic, with Nish looking on from the bar.
And with his propensity to lash out, his penchant for vengeance and his ruthless nature, BBC One viewers at home fear that Nish is hatching another plan to wreak havoc in Suki and Eve’s relationship.
“Nish is going to try and get Ayesha on side now to try and break up Suki & Eve”, one soap viewer notably theorised on X, otherwise known as Twitter. Another echoed: “Nish watching Suki always makes me nervous for whats to come.” A third pointed out: “The disgust on Nish’s face was plain”, just as a final fan suggested: “Nish is about to do something c***y.”
More importantly, however, Nish vengeful behaviour could lead him to take drastic action on Suki and Eve’s wedding day, as he once did when he tried to have Eve killed by his illegitimate son Ravi Gulati.
As EastEnders fans are no stranger to wedding chaos, one theory supposed that Nish will be waiting patiently before striking, with the potential help of Ayesha, despite her strong bond with Suki. But one fan suggested another outcome as Nish could also frame Suki for his own murder: “I think he is genuinely dying, but he only wants Suki with him at the end which indicates to me, he’ll kill himself and frame Suki and she’s already threatened him in front of witnesses.”
Nish is known to be at death’s door as he was confirmed to be dying earlier this year, which could be a hint he has nothing to lose. Could he risk going to prison again as he murders Eve, Suki or even both on their wedding day, unable to accept his wife and the mother of his children could be happy on her own?
While no exit date for Nish has been revealed, Navin Chowdhry teased that his BBC alter-ego was “more dangerous than ever”, meaning that another bloody showdown could be on the cards for him, ahead of an anticipated exit from the long-running show. Will Eve be his next victim?
