EastEnders has brought back countless iconic characters over the past 18 months, but it seems that there are set to be even more returns as the show celebrates its 40th anniversary.

In the last few weeks alone, EastEnders fans have been treated to the return of Jane Beale (Laurie Brett) and the announcement that David Wicks (Michael French) is set to make his way back to Albert Square.

However, there are even more shocks in store, as actor Matt Di Angelo revealed.

‘I know quite a lot and I can’t tell you who exactly – but when I found out, I was very surprised that they would come back,’ he told The Mirror.

Who could it be?

The Dean Wicks actor made a shocking return himself last year, when he was reintroduced to the show as Cindy and Ian Beale’s (Michelle Collins and Adam Woodyatt) secret business partner.

In his current stint, he has proved to be just as evil as he always was, having tampered with daughter Jade Masood’s (Elizabeth Green) medication in order to ensure she was too sick to leave him and move to Pakistan.

Now, he is in prison awaiting trial for the murder of Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters), after being framed by The Six.Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) stabbed Keanu to death in defence of best friend Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) on Christmas Day 2023, and once his body was discovered, the women saw an opportunity to get vile Dean out of their lives for good.

‘There is a trial. I know the result of the trial, because we’ve filmed it already. I can tell you – but I won’t because it would ruin the television!’, Matt Di Angelo previously told The Sun.

In upcoming scenes, Dean will go to extreme lengths to try and rattle Linda, and stop her appearing in court as a witness.

This week, she will receive a visit from a contact of Dean’s who will offer her a tempting deal – but will she take it?
