Junior Knight (Micah Balfour) and Cindy Beale’s (Michelle Collins) steamy affair in EastEnders has certainly ramped up in the last few weeks, with the lovers snatching liaisons together wherever, and whenever, they can.
However, Cindy issues former stepson Junior with an ultimatum next week, when he tries to have his cake and eat it.
At the beginning of the week, Cindy is angry when Junior fails to show up for a secret meet-up, and things get worse when she arrives in The Vic and finds him introducing date Maxine to his family.
He insists that their date is just to distract his family but Cindy is still furious – and things get worse when his half-sister and Cindy’s daughter Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) gossips that Junior slept with Maxine.
After Cindy gives Junior the cold shoulder, and he accuses her of overreacting, Cindy gives him an ultimatum – if he’s with her, he can’t be with anybody else
Later in the week, Junior finishes with Maxine, and tells Gina the news knowing with Cindy is listening in.
While Cindy is pleased that Junior has chosen her, just how long can their affair stay hidden from her husband Ian (Adam Woodyatt) and the rest of the Knight family?
Actor Micah Balfour, who plays Junior, recently revealed he believes Junior has genuine feelings for Cindy, who was previously married to his dad George Knight (Colin Salmon).
‘Initially, I think he slept with Cindy as a way to get back at his dad, whether he was aware of it or not,’ Micah said. ‘I think that was the initial attraction, but their relationship has progressed, and he has developed some genuine feelings towards Cindy.
‘I’m not sure how serious those feelings are, but he does have a genuine affection for her. But he’s one of those men who feels that what people don’t know can’t hurt them.’
EastEnders airs these scenes from Monday 19 August at 7.30pm on BBC One and from 6am on iPlayer.
